The Delhi Highcourt gave a judgement in which it declared that the section of IPC which penalised consenting same gender adults having intimate relatoinships ,as against the spirit of the Indian constitution.
From that very evening nearly all t.v news channels started bombarding the viewers with for and against arguments.The same set of lgbt spokepersons and muslim and christian clerics were pitted against each other and were seen in all channels at all times vociferously stating their views.
This gay argument flew back and forth a whole week,the spokepersons for gay community were very emphatic that their bias -affectoin is due to genetic factors whilst the clerics stuck to their view that it was due to environmental factors and ex horted them to join the main stream.Neither gave way and it finally culminated by a fitting observation by the christian father,'I don't know whether our [church's] objections have reached the people or not but definetly all these frank discussions on a hitherto ,a secret and out of bounds topic, in the full glare of the media has succeeded in putting in every viewers mind doubts regarding his or her gender preferences'.
He seems to have read minds.I suppose it is a person who is seeped in spirituality and religion who has the courage to reveal and lay bare our innermost doubts and fears.
